Jesus Cleanses the Temple - John 2:13-22

Jesus, you are the true temple where God and humanity can meet. And the only sign I need is the gospel. In your coming and dying and resurrection, I know you love me. Even though your salvation is better than life itself, I often live as if you are second – forgive me. Thank you for being merciful toward me, someone hard-hearted and self-centered. Please, Jesus, today, turn me toward you and others. Please open my eyes to your amazing love that I might trust you in everything. Amen

For zeal for your house has consumed me, and the reproaches of those who reproach you have fallen on me. - Psalm 69:9

With perfect justice he banished the wicked from the temple, since the temple represented the temple of his body, in which there was no stain of any kind of sin. – Bede
