Jesus Promises the Holy Spirit - John 14:15-30

READ JOHN 14:15-30

Jesus, you are the great Savior, and your Spirit is you in us, our comforter. You have not left us. I confess that I often don’t see it that way as I seek comfort and guidance from other things – I move my eyes away from you. I’m sorry. Thank you for your love and care, even though I’m not very cooperative. Please, I want deeper fellowship with you. Change my heart. Amen

Let those who delight in my righteousness shout for joy and be glad and say evermore, “Great is the Lord, who delights in the welfare of his servant!” - Psalm 35:27

The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? When evildoers assail me to eat up my flesh, my adversaries and foes, it is they who stumble and fall. - Psalm 27:1–2

Gregory of Nazianzus: The Spirit came after Christ so that we would not lack a Comforter. But he is called “another” Comforter so that you might acknowledge his co-equality. For this word another defines an alter ego, a name of equal lordship, not of inequality. We do not use the word another for different kinds of things but for those that are consubstantial. – Gregory of Nazianaus

How amazing to know that Jesus is with us, in us.
