The Unbelief of the People - John 12:36-43

READ JOHN 12:36-43

Jesus, only you can break through unbelief and cowardice. Only you can overcome pride. I cannot change my heart through self-determination or willpower and I too often love the glory that comes from man. I’m sorry. Thank you for, in your mercy, showing me your salvation. Please, Jesus, I don't want to be a cowardly believer who values comfort and reputation more than the One who saves the soul. Change me. Amen

The idols of the nations are silver and gold, the work of human hands. They have mouths, but do not speak; they have eyes, but do not see; - Psalm 135:15–16

See how these men were broken off from the faith through their love of honor. It says that many of the chief rulers believed on him, “but because of the Pharisees they did not confess him lest they should be put out of the synagogue.” … So then, they were not really rulers at all but slaves subject to the utmost slavery [of human opinion]. – Chrysostom

I'm continually amazed at how I don't think and live in a way that reflects the beauty of God's kindness to me.
