Easter - Everything Is True

If Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is in vain and your faith is in vain. - 1 Corinthians 15:14

The resurrection of Jesus means that everything Jesus promised and claimed is true because he defeated death. The resurrection is the lynchpin on which everything hangs. So, while there are many legitimate differences of opinion amongst Christians, Jesus’ resurrection is not one of them.:

“Before Abraham was, I am.” –  It’s true; Jesus is God.

“I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” – It’s true; Jesus is our hope.

“I give [my sheep] eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand.” – It’s true; Jesus will keep his children safe.

“I will never leave you or abandon you.” – It’s true; no matter what comes our way, Jesus is with us.

“It is finished.” – It’s true; Jesus has paid the price and there is nothing we can contribute.

“I am coming soon.” – It’s true; Jesus will be back.

Jesus, you are the King of righteousness. You are alive and have paid the price for your children’s lives. You have done it all and there is no more to give. Thank you for doing for me what I could not do. Thank you for loving me while I don’t respond as I should. Please, Jesus, hold on to me. Please open my eyes to your beauty. I want more of you. Amen

But in fact Christ has been raised from the dead… (1 Cor 15:20).
