Jesus Delivered To be Crucified - John 19:1-16

READ JOHN 19:1-16

Jesus, your voluntary humiliation while being King of reality is beyond words. Rejected and hated while you were living out the very definition of love. While I believe this, it doesn’t impact me the way it should. I am rigid and ignorant and self-centered – I’m helpless. Thank you for dying for someone who is helpless. I want to see the beauty of suffering for the gospel. Teach me, please. Amen

The plowers plowed upon my back; they made long their furrows. - Psalm 129:3

But I am a worm and not a man, scorned by mankind and despised by the people. - Psalm 22:6

Just as in Adam Satan subdued the whole human race demonstrating its subjection to sin, so now Satan is vanquished by humanity. For the one who was truly God and without sin was still also human. And just as all of humanity was condemned under the sentence of sin through one man, the first Adam, in the same way, the blessing of justification by Christ is extended to all through one man, the second Adam. – Cyril of Alexandria

The law that God gave was used to condemn God. We could never be saved through the law because sinful law-keepers can’t get it right.
